What is an eAuction?
Go Procure eAuctions are similar to traditional auctions, except they have the benefit of being held in a secure, real-time environment on the Internet. The Go Procure B2B Marketplace uses powerful web-based technology to make the process of choosing suppliers and negotiating mutually acceptable prices and terms, more efficient and effective.
eAuctions can save you time, effort and sourcing costs. Go Procure hosts two types of eAuction.
- In a Reverse Auction the host indicates what they want to buy and bidders compete to sell the goods/services at the best price.
- In a Forward Auction the host indicates what they wish to sell and bidders compete to offer the highest price for the goods/services.

Go Procure provides eAuction set-up services. If you are new to eProcurement, we can take care of the whole process for you. If you need any advice on setting up or bidding in an auction log in and view our online help. Otherwise please contact us for assistance.
How much money can I save using reverse auctions?
eAuction savings depend entirely on the type of product/ service and the bidders you have competing for business. On average we aim to save customers 15% on purchasing costs.
The good thing about Go Procure is that you are not forced to select a bidder if the auction doesn't yield the right price, and our hosting fees are dependant on our results. See our fee structure for more information.
How much does Go Procure charge?
Creating an account, using our directory and bidding in auctions are free.
Go Procure only charges the auction hosts - Pay as you go or an annual fee for unlimited use. See our fee structure for more information.
Is Go Procure suitable for my business?
Go Procure aims to make eAuction benefits accessible to all types of business, particularly SMEs (small & medium sized enterprises). Our services are focused on UK business and public sector organisations. We believe our services can benefit most organisations.
What can I buy and sell using Go Procure?
The Go Procure Marketplace is flexible enough to meet the needs of most industries. Procurement of manufacturing components, vehicle car fleets, IT hardware, office supplies and haulage services are some of the most common applications for reverse Auctions.
Successful eAuction lots should have an element of competition in the marketplace (i.e. a minimum of two or more potential buyers/sellers). They should also be goods or services that can be specified in sufficient detail prior to the auction.
The sensitive and highly regulated nature of a few products prevents them from being sold or purchased using Go Procure.
Please contact us regarding your eAuction requirements if you are in any doubt.
I am a supplier, why should I participate in a reverse auction?
Reverse auctions allow suppliers to submit multiple bids in response to competitive pressure. The format provides you more opportunities to earn a buyer's business than with a closed, single bid format. Reverse auctions allow suppliers to see what other bidders are offering, providing a clearer understanding of the market price and allowing all parties to compete more effectively. Suppliers who do not initially win a buyer's business are able to use what they learn through the reverse auction format to become more competitive in the future.
Do I need to integrate any technology into our existing infrastructure?
The advantage of Go Procure is that you don't need any specialist technology or integration. Go Procure fits neatly with your existing processes. This means your existing supplier payments and tracking procedures are not impacted.
